Why have a body scrub?
This is a treatment that should be part of everyone's weekly beauty regimen. The use of a body scrub is relaxing and therapeutic. It can be done with salt or sugar.
Body scrubs are naturally exfoliating, softens and tightens skin. Cleansing of clogged pores and helps heal several skin problems.
Salt is full of lots of minerals and can be very nourishing for the body. Salt has larger granules with sharper edges so it can be a more abrasive exfoliator. Great for rougher skin and calluses.
While sugar has smaller more rounded edges better for more sensitive skin and a more gentle exfoliator. Sugar does not contain the large amount of minerals like salt but does contain glycolic acid which helps heal and regenerate the skin.
Which scrub you choose is up to you. Both are mixed with hydrating oils leaving your skin soft and smooth
Bentonite Clay is a unique clay due to its ability to produce an "electrical charge" when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid, its electrical components change, giving it the ability to absorb toxins. Bentonite is known for its ability to absorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals.
Kaolin white clay is as gentle as they come, perfect for all skin types and conditions. If you sensitive skin this is a great one to try along with the Moroccan Red clay. This clay contains high content of silica that helps in removing the dead skin and then regenerating. It also purifies and detoxes the skin. It has unique minerals and phyto-nutrients that help in eliminating toxins and oil from skin. Excellent for people with sensitive and oily skin types.
Why do a body wrap?
Most of us think of a day at the spa and always hear how it includes a body scrub or body wrap but rarely do we know the benefits. I am sure if I asked several people they would just think great for overall relaxation. But the benefits almost outweigh the total relaxation.
During your treatment, I use a mixture of different clays with an organic kelp seaweed. Bentonite, Kaolin, Moroccan, and Dead Sea clay. They all do similar things but come from different areas of the earth.
- Detoxify by removing toxins and heavy metals
- Exfoliate the skin
- Moisturize/hydrate the skin
- Reduce inflamed skin issues such as acne and eczema
- May even reduce the appearance of cellulite
- Last but not least 100% complete relaxation
They have been labeled "healing clay" and contain high concentrations of minerals such as silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron and potassium.
Moroccan Red clay is especially great for all skin types and very gentle. It can be healing on the skin by supporting and strengthening the skins defensive mechanisms, improving cellular circulation, stimulates cell renewal and collagen production. Fights and protects against acne, spots, and blemishes.
Dead sea mud is therapeutic and useful for treating rheumatic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It's also beneficial for fibromyalgia, tendonitis, bursitis, sports injuries, and recovery from orthopedic surgeries according to the DSRC. It's even useful for relaxing sore muscles. Along with its high mineral content this is excellent for improving skin disorders, leaving the skin moisturized and toned.
Seaweed is amazing for your hair and skin. It is a strong detoxifier by removing toxins from your skin. It is an all natural anti-inflammatory making it healing and soothing to acne and other skin inflamed issues. It reduces the appearance of cellulite and adds moisture to the skin.
